Highlights

Miyajima & Iwakuni

During our stay in Hiroshima, we will spend two nights in Miyajimaguchi, a charming port town just across from Miyajima Island. Our itinerary includes a photography session at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Itsukushima Shrine, renowned for its iconic “floating” torii gate and sacred architecture set against the backdrop of the Seto Inland Sea. We will also visit nearby Iwakuni in Yamaguchi Prefecture, home to the celebrated Kintaikyo Bridge—one of Japan’s three most famous bridges. This architectural marvel, constructed entirely without nails, features five gracefully arching wooden spans supported by massive stone piers. As one of the world’s rare wooden arch bridges, Kintaikyo is not only a feat of traditional engineering but also a beloved cherry blossom viewing spot, ranked among Japan’s Top 100.

Kyoto

No journey to Japan is complete without a visit to Kyoto, the ancient capital steeped in timeless charm. This city captivates all who wander its historic streets and serene temples. Our tour includes a three-night stay in Kyoto, offering ample opportunity to immerse yourself in its rich cultural heritage through photography. To avoid the crowds and capture the city at its most tranquil, we begin our days early with visits to iconic locations such as the Higashiyama district, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, the bamboo groves of Arashiyama, and the vibrant vermilion torii gates of Fushimi Inari Shrine. During the day, we’ll explore the northern countryside and mountain villages, focusing on scenic spots like Ohara and Kibune. The exact locations we visit will be carefully selected each day based on weather conditions, cherry blossom status, and other seasonal factors to ensure the best photographic experience.

Nara and Mount Yoshino

While Nara is best known for Nara Park’s friendly deer and the Great Buddha Hall of Todai-ji Temple, venturing a bit further reveals hidden gems that remain largely untouched by international tourism. In the nearby mountains, you’ll find tranquil temples such as Hase-dera and Muro-ji, celebrated for their serene atmosphere and seasonal beauty—perfect for photography. The journey culminates at Mount Yoshino, often hailed as Japan’s top cherry blossom destination, where some 30,000 sakura trees blanket the mountainside in delicate pink, offering a breathtaking spectacle that will leave you in awe.
