Backpack: Be sure to be able to carry your pack at the back, as there will be times when you need to use both hands for climbing in the rocky areas.
Backpack Cover: The weather changes rapidly at high altitudes, and it is common for rain storms to pass through.
Headlamp: After leaving the lodge in the early morning hours, it will still be dark. Each person needs to have their own headlight. It is best to keep your hands free for safely climbing over the large boulders along the way.
Full Raingear (with separate jacket and rain pants)
Proper Mountaineering Boots
Layered Clothing: T-shirt, Long sleeved shirt, and long pants → Depending on the weather, you will experience both mid-summer heat and mid-winter temperatures at the peak, all in one day.
Winter Clothes (Gloves, hat, down jacket, fleece): At the summit, the temperature is low enough to have snowfall even in the summer. Winter clothes are essential to make your stay at the summit comfortable.
Trail snacks, water bottle while hiking

More detailed information will be provided before departure.

Season for Climbing

Due to the high altitudes, Mt. Fuji is not open for hiking for most of the year. Even in the spring, there is still a lot of unstable snowy areas. Climbers can only summit during the summer months, from early July to mid-September annually. The trail is opened according to the weather conditions.

Altitude Sickness

The accommodation altitude is 3,100m and the maximum elevation is 3,776m at the summit. Symptoms of mild high-altitude sickness, such as headaches may occur as you approach the mountain huts or the summit. It is important to take care to get enough sleep and manage your physical condition from the days leading up to the hike. The better your physical condition, the less likely you will have trouble.
