During the overnight stay in the mountain huts, please do not expect any 'hotel service' type of experience. Also, since there are no showers, we recommend packing body wipes.

Things to Pack

You will need to pack for 5 days/4 nights, carried in your backpack, so please make it as light as possible. You will have a chance to repack and leave your main luggage to be stored at the hotel in Kamikochi, where we are staying after the hike.
Backpack: Ensure that the pack can be worn on your back, as there will be times when you need to use both hands for climbing in the rocky areas.
Backpack Cover: The weather changes rapidly at high altitudes, and it is common for rain storms to pass through.
Headlamp: After leaving the lodge in the early morning hours, it will still be dark. Each person needs to have their own headlight. It is best to keep your hands free for safely climbing over the large boulders along the way.
Full Rain Gear: With separate jacket and rain pants.
Proper Mountaineering Boots
Gloves:
To protect your hands when climbing over rocks and when using chains and ladders.
Layered Clothing: T-shirt, long sleeved shirt, and long pants → Depending on the weather, you will experience both mid-summer heat and mid-winter temperatures at the peak, all in one day.
Winter Clothes: Gloves, hat, down jacket, fleece→ At the summit, the temperature is low enough to have snowfall even in the summer. Winter clothes are essential to make your stay at the summit comfortable.
Trail snacks, water bottle while hiking
*No lunch, drinks or snacks are provided. You will need to carry your own food and drinks for eating and drinking along the trail, but you will be able to buy snacks and drinks during the hike at the mountain huts along the way.
